My Samsung 40" 720p will emulate 1080p as well, not perfect but emulating 1080p so the resolutions of both monitors match is nice.

Does anyone play Arma with 2+ monitors, if so, how do you? Side by side widescreen like or displaying stats on the other?

There's actually a mod i found somewhere that will throw up the map on your second screen and display information like where your team is and assets etc. Called Athena. I haven't tried it out yet but it's cool. on the Arma workshop in the NAK TAC/Zeus optional collection. Thought it was nifty..

I've also heard if you stick a blank 4GB or higher flash drive into a TV with 720p or lower, it will give the TV more processing power to render images at higher resolutions. i.e it'll turn your 720p into a 1080p. Supposedly it's cheaper to build all the TVs with the same parts then program them to be bottlenecked. User results may vary and some people see an improvement while others just see a placebo

Out with the hot... in with the cool....

That being said why dont MB mfg's consider the fact that almost every major video card is typically double wide now... so why even put PCI-e lanes that close to each other... thank fully found a pci-e extension cable moved the SB card completely off the motherboard now... short of doing water cooling on my GPU's this rig is finally completed.

I believe hes using an AMD processor, so he uses Crossfire X instead

yeah no SLI on twin RX580's (was even considering a hybrid of both nvidia and raedon) :) I was worried just plugging in a x1 card into a x16 slot alone cuz SB says dont do it but my MB said its allowed. only reason I dont use onboard audio is cuz it dont support dobly live encoding over spdif (which is only 2 channels so you need dolby encoded audio to use a reciever properly and keep surround sound gameplay like in arma)

if you cant tell the left photo the sound card is completely covering half the video card hence the nuclear explosion over it which was waiting to happen I had crossfire disabled till now only used that card for the 'frame stablizer' option which only uses the 2nd card minimally to keep fps level ie. picks up only if the main card gets loaded 100%

Yes, the PCIx1 is compatible with every PCI slot.
Do you saw a difference with the frame stabilizer ?

Actually it does matter if its compatible the maker of the card said its not, so its not..., I technically voided my warranty if it didnt work and would have bought the bullet on the cost if I fried it...

as for FRS there isnt a game so far that makes me lag graphics wise. I play arma on 4k/6k/8k draw distance. I went into SWTOR last night with crossfire on and it was so f'n fast I had to change it back cuz I couldnt slow down the camera/mouse movement even to be even playable anymore.

think your PSU is upside down... the fan should be pulling in from the bottom of the case and pushing it out the back so it doesnt intake hot air from inside your case. (or thats how it normally is designed...)

oh I had a new edition to my family. but sadly it was from one of them drunk moments I left the planet so now I got an Alienware 17r5 laptop to nuture and love.

regarding the PSU, I have watched into several videos about weather it should point upwards or downwards. Many say it is purely an aesthetical matter while others say it matters. I may flip it around just because I trust your wise advice, but these high grade PSUs also dont even use their fan most of the time, as it will only spin above a certain power consumpion I believe.

Thanks anyways I think I’ll follow your advice

Yeah the whole idea of a bottom mount PSU is mainly that heat rises so having the PSU like in the old days at the top would end up gobbling up all the head right off the cpu. so then the whole bottom mount case line came out with a external intake so it doesnt 1) absorb heat already trying to be removed 2) doesnt effect your internal airflow either... Remember you should have more intake CFM over exhaust. this way you keep a positive air flow and pressure inside your case. your cpu cooler is a 3 fan radiator pulling out and you have only 2 intakes. so we talking 2 in and 5 out in total... in your case I would def put it so it draws in from outside if it supports it (I cant find any bottom photos of your case to check)

oh and looking great so far. gonna be a nice rig.

Really appreciate all of this :)

And yes, my case does have some vents at the bottom of the case for the PSU I believe, so probabbly its a better way to put it that way thanks

Image Much better now! Thanks Sycholic and Vile.

As a sidenote, I was testing if my motherboard was working propperly when I plugged it in and the lights did show up. But I do not get a Q Code readout, nor case fans nor case lights and buttons working from the FPC. Even though the reason of this might be the lack of CPU installed for now, I just wanted to make sure my motherboard isnt faulty if any of you have a clue (I have a MAXIMUS ROG HERO X)

Some older Asus boards would show 00 when no CPU is installed, but that code seems to be unused now judging by your manual. I'd test with the CPU in after your cooler comes in.
As for case fans, I would just try to plug into a different socket.
For case lighting, assuming they're Aura Sync compatible and you've plugged it into the correct port, I'm thinking they might require the CPU and/or OS to setup first.

In any case, since the board itself lights up, at least that confirms that the power supply is working and the motherboard is receiving power. I'd wait for the rest of the parts before worrying about any components possibly needing an RMA.
Do you feel what I feel?

Progress Update
Image Installed CPU (i7-8700K) and 420MM AIO cooler from Alphacool. Everything is working as it should and motherboard booted into BIOS. When I first turned it on, I would get a Q-CODE readout 53 - “Memory initialization error. No usable memory detected”, I then realized the RAM sticks were not installed propperly and fixed the issue fast. Idle temps on bios were around 25ºC

Only GPU and SSD left. For SSD i am going to get a 500GB M.2 NVME stick as a boot drive. For GPU I have my mind on a RTX 2080 Ti, possibly from MSI.

Thanks to everyone that has helped me and let me know of any issues / gave me tips. Ill let you know when its finally complete.

(Excuse the “poor” lighting)

Thanks to everyone that helped me out during this "journey"

Name: "SR-72"
Specs:
i7-8700K
ASUS ROG MAXIMUS HERO X
ASUS ROG STRIX 2080 Ti
Trident.Z 16GB RGB 3200Mhz DDR4
Alphacool 420mm AIO
1x M.2 NVME 500GB SSD
1x Kingston SATA 250GB SSD
1x WD 1TB SSD
(Still need to get a couple of hard drives)
Corsair HX1000i PSU
Thermaltake View 71 Tempered Glass Full Tower

The PC is running like a beast, pushing 160+ fps at ultra settings in some games. Looks stunning.
My only complains would be the lack of PSU shroud for the case and that ugly "Quick Disconnect" system on the AIO that is almost rammed into the exhaust fan.

Well the Graphics card is pretty solid and hasn't let me down yet (quite a few years old now) buy yeah, that i9 is a beast compared to the i5-2500k it replaced!

However - one thing I learned from the upgrade is to avoid SanDisk SSD's - their manufacturing has plummeted and they're slow as hell these days.

The last time I built a computer was over 5 years ago so it's time for some serious upgrades. Take a look at this badboy:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6HHzmq

All the parts will be here in two days but the GPU won't be here until August 28th. That puts a bit of a damper on a quick build 😂

Upgraded to some new stuff on top of the original build I had planned. Ran it up once and it went to bios but now it won't post after working on it again. Yikes 😳

Update to mine: Fixed my no post & USB overvolt problems. Had to replace my motherboard, replaced power supply, upgraded liquid cooler... and put some missing stand-offs on the case 🤦‍♂️

CPU: Intel i7 9700k (Liquid Cooled by Corsair H100i Pro/240mm)
GPU: EVGA RTX 2060 Super 8GB
RAM: G. Skill Trident Z 16GB DDR4-4000
PSU: EVGA 850W 80+ Gold
SSD: Samsung 970 EVO 500GB m.2
MOBO: ASUS Z390-E Gaming Series
CASE: NXZT Phantom 410 (Black)

Highest FPS on Altis: 99
Lowest FPS on Altis: 42

Both FPS ranges were on Ultra. The lowest FPS reading was a mix between max view distance while flying low, fast and dumping flares from an AH-99 Blackfoot.
